Growing up in New York City, Lauren always enjoyed helping others and staying active. When Lauren moved to Washington in 2007, she was working in investment banking and started taking a lot of barre and yoga classes. She quickly combined her passions for teaching and fitness, became certified to teach barre, and left her career in finance behind. While teaching at a DC area studio, Lauren met Vanessa and they started developing a more effective barre technique that helped clients quickly reach their fitness goals. LavaBarre has now expanded and diversified, but its core remains true to what distinguished the first LavaBarre studio that opened in Clarendon in 2012; efficient workouts, personal attention from teachers, and more burn for your buck.
Lauren was born and raised in New York City, she received her black belt in Tae Kwon Do at age 14, played Division I squash while pursuing her B.A. at Hamilton College, and now lives in Arlington with her husband JP, son Winston, and black lab Gilbert.
