Beth is the Lead Yoga Instructor at LavaBarre. She first began practicing yoga in 2004, falling instantly in love with the Baptiste style. She taught at Down Dog Yoga for 7 years, where she’d completed her 200-hour teacher training in 2006, and through the years has drawn inspiration from other styles and teachers, including Iyengar, Dharma Mittra, and Anusara. Life's lessons abound on the mat, and Beth encourages her students to take chances in their practice so that they may develop the same courage off their mats.
Beth moved to Arlington in 2002 after attending graduate school in Boston. She’s a passionate advocate for women’s health issues and was once a counselor for survivors of sexual assault and domestic violence. Yoga and photography are her creative outlets, and she feels incredibly fortunate to have made her hobby into her career. Beth is also a Thai massage practitioner and a freelance writer/editor, as well as a mother to two precocious and funny girls.
