Adria is the Master cycle instructor at LavaBarre. She took her first cycling class at the end of 2013 after a year spent prepping for two half-marathons and fell in love immediately, giving up long distance running to hit the studio at least twice a week. Her favorite aspect of indoor cycling is how the right beat can take her physical effort to the next level, and she strives to bring that motivation to each of her classes.
Adria moved to D.C. in 2014 after getting her chemistry doctorate from Duke University in order to work on energy and environmental policy as a fellow in Capitol Hill. Now she works to address barriers to the widespread use of clean energy. When she’s not cycling or trying to learn more about clean-tech innovation, you’ll find her painting, traveling, getting distracted by her dogs, and finding excuses to go to her favorite restaurants to get breakfast for dinner.
